Rylstone the hidden treasure just beyond the Blue Mountains
Rylstone which is a mere three hours from the start of the M4 in Sydney is just off the Mudgee Rd. Until recently it has been a hidden treasure but with such great sights as Dunns swamp, Ferntree Gully and many others for the more adventurous. Somewhere in the area deep in and dark in the Wollemi national park the Wollemi Pine was discovered.
The wildlife here is probably only rivalled in Tasmania with multiple Kangaroo species, Wombats, Quolls , Echidnas, Possums, lizards, snakes, Wedge-tail eagles & multi coloured parrots being a common sighting in the area and other more nocturnal birds & animals available to those who look hard.
For the hunters State Forests and parts of the national parks have been opened to conservation hunters who have proper permits.
Rylstone was actually settled before Mudgee so many of the buildings are ancient and heritage listed. there is a strong art community and the cafe's and restaurants are top class and the town is open 365 days a year and is very very happy to see tourists.
Kandos the sister town only 5km away mainly services the coal mine and cement works and for those looking for bargain properties still around $100k.
The sandstone escarpments, cliffs and pagoda rocks and make the area a visual feast similar but unique of kangaroo valley.
We are lucky to have 100acres of pure bush along the Bylong Valley way some 20km's from rylstone which periodically is used for retreats. There are reasonable facilities with a cabin that will sleep over 10 adults and cooking facilities well setup. We boast our own archery range, golf driving range and low rise confidence course plus training areas including boxing ring. Marked trails and mud maps and incredible views plus two incredible tourist sites within 2km make this a great place to be.
We are open for groups or individuals to rent the property for a pretty small cost.
